DENVER, CO - COLOR Action Fund is excited to announce our first-ever, At-Large City Council endorsements for the 2023 Denver Municipal elections in April: Serena Gonzales-Gutierrez and Sarah Parady. Serena and Sarah are proven allies that will lead and advocate for the values of COLOR Action Fund.
“I share values with COLOR [Action Fund] and I practice them every day in my personal and professional life. As a woman of color and an advocate for not only my community but others facing similar issues, I know that having this endorsement will continue our partnership to defend the rights of women, people who are pregnant, and reproductive justice for everyone. I have worked closely with you all for years and hope to continue that on Denver City Council.” - Serena Gonzales-Gutierrez
“I am running because, after a decade representing the most marginalized workers against opponents with far more money and power, I am committed to fighting alongside our community members to replace the harmful systems that continually harm already-marginalized communities with sustainable solutions that uplift and work for all Denverites.” - Sarah Parady
COLOR Action Fund is building political and electoral power - from the ground up. Our strategy is to focus on opportunities at all levels of policymaking, to hold elected officials accountable for our issue priorities, and to elect people who support our mission.
COLOR Action Fund has a history of advocacy and organizing within Denver’s Latino/a community, we have spoken to thousands of voters in past elections, and this year is no different. Latinos make up 30% of Denver’s population and are the second-largest and fastest-growing voting block across the country. This is why we are growing our community’s political strength by ensuring that they are informed about these elections and feel represented at all levels of government.
For any questions regarding COLOR AF’s endorsement, please contact Dusti Gurule, President, and CEO at COLOR Action Fund, at dusti@colorlatina.org
