EMPOWERING COMMUNITY,
DEMANDING ACCOUNTABILITY
As the only reproductive justice action fund in the state, COLOR AF takes an intersectional approach to our work by holding elected officials accountable for issues impacting the Latine community in health care, civil rights, economic justice, and immigration.
We created our scorecard to hold elected officials accountable for the issues that matter to our communities.
Our goal is to help our community understand power dynamics, actively engage with the policy process, and demand that our elected officials act courageously in the fight to advance reproductive justice.

LAWMAKERS LEADING TOWARD JUSTICE

COLOR Action Fund celebrates two lawmakers who went above and beyond to demonstrate their commitment to reproductive justice values during the 2025 general legislative session, inside and outside the Capitol.
REPRODUCTIVE JUSTICE CHAMPION AWARD
Representative Lorena Garcia, HD 35
We honor Representative Lorena Garcia as our Reproductive Justice Champion. Representative Garcia demonstrated a standard of
values-aligned decision-making, accountability, and communication that we believe other lawmakers should aspire to.
COURAGEOUS PATHFINDER AWARD
Representative Yara Zokaie, HD 52
We recognize Representative Yara Zokaie with the Courageous Pathfinder Award. Representative Yara Zokaie represented reproductive justice boldly as a first-time state legislator, scoring 100% on COLOR Action Fund’s Legislative Scorecard. Representative Zokaie continually used her voice to advocate for the rights of our communities and uplift our lived experiences.
SCORING

OUR DATA-DRIVEN, PEOPLE-FIRST APPROACH TO POLICY PRIORITIES
Guided by our reproductive justice framework, we also utilize data and findings from the Colorado Latino Policy Agenda to inform our policy priorities, establish our positions for the legislative session, and keep the community’s interests and needs at the forefront. The Annual Colorado Latino Policy Agenda is a nonpartisan report that provides critical insight into the demographic makeup and political views of Latine voters in Colorado.
GRADING OUR ELECTED OFFICIALS
Our team selects which bills to score based on their impact on the community and our reproductive justice framework.
We score lawmakers’ votes on chosen bills as they progress through the legislature. We evaluate their actions in committees and on the floor. Each bill undergoes multiple rounds of voting, so we carefully track every vote in every round.
All lawmakers are rated on whether they voted in favor of or against our positions in all voting rounds, and we evaluate legislators’ actions using grades ranging from “A+” to “F”.
