On the four-year anniversary of the Dobbs decision, we are feeling reflective and resolute.
They overturned Roe. We built power. They tried to take away our freedom. We organized our communities and fought back. They underestimated what happens when Latinas, immigrants, young people, and communities who have been pushed aside decide to lead.
We showed them.
Through years of organizing, storytelling, coalition-building, and turning our community’s power into political action, Colorado became a national example of what’s possible when our communities lead.
In 2024, COLOR Action Fund helped lead the campaign to pass Amendment 79, making Colorado one of the first states to enshrine abortion rights in our state constitution and remove barriers that existed between people and the care they need.
This victory belongs to every volunteer who knocked doors, every person who shared their story, every voter who showed up, and every community member who believed we could win.
We didn’t wait for someone else to protect our freedom.
We organized.
We mobilized.
We won.
And we will continue building political power so Latine communities can lead safe, healthy, and self-determined lives because when our communities rise, Colorado rises with us.
